Citing new “sporty” bumpers, colors and new available options, Volkswagen AG has said it has “freshened up” its Beetle and Beetle Cabriolet.
New paint options like “Bottle Green Metallic” and “White Silver Metallic” are now available along with flatter bumpers.
“An additional ventilation opening above the bumper indicates added dynamics,” the company said in a release. “Other genuine highlights are the tinted LED rear lights and the 17-inch “Philadelphia” wheels as well as the 18-inch “Ravenna Adamantium” wheels, which are available as order options for the Design Line and R-Line.”
Volkswagen is also offering a “denim” model with a “stonewashed blue metallic” paint job, a “jeans-colored” convertible roof and 17-inch dark graphite wheels. The interior will have sport seats with blue covers and storage pockets in jeans style as well as an aluminium-blue matte-colored dashpad.
Cost of the new Beetle will range from around $20,000 for the coupe to around $25,000 for the new “denim” look with a basic engine package.
The manufacturer said it was updating its R-line interior package for the new Beetle as well as a special All-Star Beetle available at the end of the year for around $25,000.
“This special model is characterized by sill panel mouldings with the ‘ALLSTAR’ lettering, the 17-inch alloy wheels in ‘Linas’ styling, Climatronic air conditioning system with two-zone temperature control, the Composition Media radio system incl. navigation system “Discover Media” and the legendary ‘Beetle compartment.'” the company said.
Volkswagen said orders for the new Beetle models will start in the middle of June.
